The Film New Europe Association is main networking platform of professionals in the Central and Eastern Europe and Baltic region. The FNE Association board is made up of the heads of the most important film institutions in the region. The webportal Film New Europe with its FNE Daily newswire was chosen as the main tool to achieve the network’s objectives: FNE is the sharing of know how, visibility of regional cultural diversity and finally the voice of the region.  FNE is also a pan-European connection for the region and has partnerships and activities with the main pan-European film institutions based in Western Europe.

SOFIA: For the first time since its establishment in 1991 the Bulgarian National Film Center will support low budget feature films, with up to 200,000 EUR per project. The application deadline is 18 August 2014 and the results will be announced on 29 September 29.

WARSAW: Polish filmmaker Bodo Kox will make his first foray into youth oriented cinema with Three Cousins, an adaptation of the bestselling children’s novel Felix, Net, Nika And The Three Couisns.

MECEFF Announces Line-up

BUCHAREST: The 4th edition of Mediaş Central European Film Festival (2-6 September), the only festival in Romania focusing on Central European cinema, announced the seven films competing for the festival's trophy.

UHERSKE HRADISTE: British director Peter Greenaway has received the prize of the Association of Czech Film Clubs (AČFK) at the 40th edition of the Summer Film School (LFS) running through 2 August 2014.

PULA: Pirjo Honkasalo's Concrete Night / Betoniyö has been awarded Golden Arena for Best Feature Film in the International Programme of the 61st Pula IFF, 12-26 July 2014. Number 55 / Broj 55 made by Kristijan Milić for the Croatian Radiotelevision was awarded Best Film in the Croatian feature competition.

TBILISI: The Georgian National Film Fund (GNFC) has announced the winners of the competition for grants national development finance for animated short films. GNFC allotted 10,568EUR/25,000GEL for five out of six applicants.
