Eurimages to Support Projects from Eight CEE Countries

    STRASBOURG: A total of 18 feature films and two documentaries were granted 4.44 m EUR by Eurimages. The list includes eight CEE coproductions directed by Peter Greenaway, Nae Caranfil, Rainer Sarnet, Hana Jusic and Milos Radovic.

    The Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages decided at its 138 meeting held in Lisbon from 9 to 12 March to give 4,299,000 EUR to 18 feature films and 145,000 EUR to two documentaries. Walking to Paris by Peter Greenaway, a Romanian minority coproduction, received 280,000 EUR. Rehepapp, by Rainer Sarnet, a coproduction between Estonia, Germany and Nertherlands received 210,000 EUR, while Nae Caranfil's new project, 6,9 on the Richter Scale, produced by Cristian Mungiu through Mobra Films in coproduction with Bulgaria's Jelfilm received 150,000 EUR.

    In the framework of the distribution support programme, Scheme I (Support for marketing and publicity costs), the Board has granted its support to 38 films released before 31 December 2015 . The total support granted represents 202,077 EUR. As for Scheme II ( Support for measures for fostering awareness of European cinema), the Board decided to support the project 15 -009/DII/FYROM “SeeMovies – VOD platform” (Cutaway, FYROM) with an amount of 103,000 EUR.
