CANNES: Slovak and Czech ratings of the interactive TV-event The Verdict by Lars Kraume, which had its world premiere at MIPCOM in Cannes on 17 October 2016, were far above average with high responses on social media platforms. The programme scored sensational ratings at its simultaneous broadcast in several European territories.

The Verdict was screened primetime in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Slovakia at the same time with an industry screening at the international TV market MIPCOM in Cannes on 17 October 2016.

The Verdict, produced by Oliver Berben and Beta Film, circles around the legal question, whether it would be justified to shoot down a civilian plane converted into a deadly suicide missile. The TV-audience witnesses the trial and is able to vote for their judgement online and via telephone. Most of the viewers voted "not guilty".

According to a press release by Beta Film, the feature length legal thriller starring Burghart Klaussner, Lars Eidinger, Martina Gedeck and Florian David Fitz was watched by 6.9 million viewers with a 20 % market share in Germany.

Austrian Television celebrated a 28% market share with an audience of about one million viewers.
