Call for entries for Aristoteles docu workshop in Romania

By

Applications are now being accepted for the annual Aristoteles Workshop for documentary films in Romania. The workshop, conducted in partnership with the French/German cultural network Arte television, will welcome 16 participants from Aug. 11 to Sept. 7.

Established in 2005, Aristoteles Workshop is designed for people with previous film or video experience including young documentary filmmakers, writers, producers, directors, DOPs and editors from Central and Eastern Europe. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their credentials, demo reels and recommendations.

The deadline for applications is May 30, according to Oana Ionita, communications director for the workshop. More information is available at www.aworkshop.org.

At the workshop, participants will be divided into four groups and guided through each step of documentary production. While emphasis will be on content, the workshop will also cover the latest HDTV technologies and techniques.

At the end, each group will have to deliver a 52-minute documentary ready for broadcast and entirely marketable.
