Declining Ad Revenues at Romanian TV

    {mosimage}BUCHAREST: The deficit of the Romanian's public TV, SRTV (www.tvr.ro), decreased by 0.71% in 2011, to €36.7 million Euro, while revenue from advertising was 7.4 million euro in 2011, down 24.06% from 2010.

    In the first half of 2011, the deficit was with 34% lower than the first half of 2010. SRTV (www.tvr.ro) reported total revenues of 133.1 million Euro (583 million RON) in 2011, with 55.97% of them come from taxes, 32.73% from the state budget, 5.17% from advertising and 6.13% from other sources.

    Total expenses were 169.8 million Euro (743.8 million RON) last year, 1.68% more than in 2010.

    The net turnover was 124.2 million Euro (544.4 million Euro) in 2011. Among the short terms debts which are up to 531,100,943 Euro (531,100,943 RON), SRTV owes 4,093,490 Euro (17,931,146 RON) to the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro).

    SRTV celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2011. SRTV operates six channels: TVR1, TVR2, TVR3, TVR Cultural, TVR Info and TVR International. It also has an experimental channel, TVR HD.
