The film follows the love entanglements between five young actors rehearsing The Game of Love and Chance by Marivaux in a theatre located in the old part of Bucharest. Adrian Lustig wrote the script.
Cristina Dobrițoiu is producing through Fundația Teatru Contemporan. The budget is 450,000 EUR of which 78% is already covered by the National Film Centre, Cinema City and Domeniile Sâmburești.
The main parts are played by Pavel Ulici, Nicoleta Hancu, Aida Economu, Alex Unguru and Toni Zaharia. Shooting started on 5 September 2015 and will wrap on 12 October 2015. The premiere is set for 1 April 2016 with Movie Production Entertainment as domestic distributor.
Sweet Little Lies, distributed by MediaPro Distribution, opened in local cinemas on 19 October 2012 and sold 55,629 tickets until the end of 2012, taking in approximately 216,600 EUR/ 956,000 RON, according to Cinemagia.
