PRODUCTION: Far from Here Starts Shooting

    BUCHAREST: Far from Here, the debut feature of the Australian director James Pillion, started shooting in Romania on 12 October 2015. The film is a Romanian/American independent low budget production.

    At the center of the story is a young pair of newlyweds, an American writer named Grant and a Romanian construction engineer named Sofia, who come to Romania and try to build a life there. After a year, Grant’s prospects of writing are scarce, while Sofia’s career has taken off, and their relationship is troubled.

    Jonathan Ahmadi, Jesus del Cerro, J.M.R Luna and James Pillion wrote the script. Jesus del Cerro is producing through Romania’s Studio Indie Productions in association with de J.M.R Luna through the U.S. company Lunatic Films.

    The main characters are played by the Romanian actress Maria Dinulescu and Ahmadi. The cast includes the Romanian actors Maia Morgenstern, Andi Vasluianu, Vasile Flutur and Gelu Nițu.

    Shooting takes place primarily in Romania with a few days in Los Angeles. Shooting in Romania will wrap on 1 November 2015. The premiere is set for 2016.
