Ana, Mon Amour Sold to Eleven Territories

    BUCHAREST: Călin Peter Netzer’s Ana, mon amour was sold by Beta Cinema to eleven territories. This Romanian/German/French coproduction was awarded the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for editing at the 2017 Berlinale.

    The film was sold to: Benelux, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Turkey, ex-Yugoslavia, China, Taiwan, Germany and France.

    The film will be distributed in France by Sophie Dulac starting 21 June 2017 and in Germany by Real Fiction starting 14 September 2017. Golem is the Spanish distributor. Negotiations for other territories are underway.

    Ana, Mon Amour investigates the romantic relationship with all its dependencies and crisis situations against the backdrop of the social realities of Romania and is an adaptation of Cezar-Paul Bădescu's novel Luminiţa, Mon Amour.

    The main characters are played by Mircea Postelnicu and Diana Cavallioti. Andrei Butică (Child’s Pose, Parada Film) is the DoP and Dana Bunescu (The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceaușescu produced by Icon Production) edited.

    Oana Iancu produced through Parada Film (the same company that produced Child’s Pose, winner of the Golden Bear at the 2013 Berlinale) in coproduction with augenschein Filmproduktion and Sophie Dulac Productions. The Romanian National Film Center, Eurimages, the MEDIA Programme, Film­- und Medienstiftung NRW GmbH and France’s Centre National du Cinéma et de l’image animée supported the film.

    The film was released in Romania by Freeman Entertainment on 3 March 2017 with 24,650 admissions to date, according to Cinemagia.ro.
