CLUJ-NAPOCA: Berlin-based world sales company Picture Tree International is upping its CEE content, with buyer Rickard Olsson making his first trip to the Romanian Industry Days at the Transilvania IFF, which runs through 11 June 2017.

“I would really like to add a Romanian title,” Olsson told FNE.

The relatively young company has added the Czech/Slovak box office success Tiger Theory to its selection of current releases, with the Georgian/Estonian film The Confession (previously titled The Monk) by Zaza Urushadze on its list of upcoming releases, after its likely fall 2017 festival release.

Tiger Theory, directed by Radek Bajgar and starring Jiri Bartoska was produced by Logline Production in coproduction with the Czech TV and Slovakia’s RTVS and RWE with support from the Czech State Cinematography Fund, landed in 11th place on the 2016 Czech box office chart, with 1.7 m USD in ticket sales, distributed by CinemArt.

The Confession was produced by Ivo Felt through Estonia’s Allfilm in coproduction with Zaza Urushadze through his company Cinema24 and received funding from the Georgian Ministry of Culture and the Estonian Film Institute.
