Romanian Debut Feature Selected for Berlinale’s Competition

    BUCHAREST: Adina Pintilie’s debut feature Touch Me Not / Nu mă atinge-mă was selected for the Competition of the 68th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (15-25 February 2018). The film is a Romanian/German/Czech/Bulgaria/French coproduction with an international cast.

    Touch Me Not is an exploration of intimacy and is set to be part of a multi-platform art project supported by the Pompidou Center in Paris, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw and the Spinnerei Art Center in Leipzig.

    The main characters are played by Laura Benson, Tómas Lemarquis, Christian Bayerlein, Grit Uhlemann, Hanna Hofmann, Seani Love and Irmena Chichikova.

    The film was produced by Romania’s Manekino Film in coproduction with RohFilm (Germany), Pink Production from the Czech Republic, Bulgaria’s Agitprop Ltd and France’s Les Films de l'Étranger.

    The project received production support from the Romanian Film Centre, EURIMAGES, Torino Film Lab, MDM (Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung) Germany, the Bulgarian National Film Center, the Czech Film Fund and Strasbourg Urban Community. It also received an ARTE award at Cinemart 2011 and MEDIA development support, and was selected for Atelier Cinéfondation of Cannes Film Festival 2012, Binger FilmLab, Torino Film Lab and Sarajevo Work in Progress 2016.
