Aristoteles Workshop Kicks Off in Romania

    BARU: Young participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Romania were selected for the Romanian Aristoteles Workshop, whose 13th edition started in the village of Baru, Hunedoara county on 1 August 2018.

    Throughout a month the 15 selected participants will form teams (director, DoP and editor) and will scout, shoot and edit a documentary under 30 minutes. They will be accompanied by four producers/ professors of documentaries from the Netherlands, France and Denmark.

    The workshop kicked off with a masterclass by Thierry Garrel.

    In its previous editions Aristoteles Workshop trained promising filmmakers including Adina Pintilie, winner of the 2018 Golden Bear for Touch Me Not

    As of 2018, AW is partnering with the Babes Bolyai University  in Cluj-Napoca, the Faculty of Theatre and Television in Cluj-Napoca and cinepub.ro. This year’s edition is financed by the National Film Centre, the Romanian Filmmakers Association (UCIN) and DACIN SARA, with the support of NouMax and The Mayoralty of Baru, Hunedoara county.
