Anca Damian’s Romanian/French/Belgian Coproduction Nominated for 2019 European Film Awards

    BERLIN: Romanian director Anca Damian’s film Marona’s Fantastic Tale, a Romanian/French/Belgian coproduction, has been nominated for the European Film Awards in the European Animated Film category.

    The nominations were determined by a committee comprised of EFA Board Deputy Chairman Antonio Saura (Spain), EFA Board Member Graziella Bildesheim (Italy) and producer Paul Young (Ireland) as well as, representing CARTOON, the European Association of Animation Film, film critic Stéphane Dreyfus (France), producer Kristine M. I. Knudsen (Germany) and director Janno Põldma (Estonia).

    Four films were nominated in the category. The nominated films will soon be submitted to the more than 3,600 EFA Members to elect the winner. The European Animated Feature Film 2019 will then be presented at the 32nd European Film Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 7 December in Berlin.

    Marona’s Fantastic Tale was produced by Damian’s company Aparte Film, France’s Cinema Public Films and Sacrebleu Productions, and Belgium’s Minds Meet.
