Agro Channel to launch in 2010

    The National Audiovisual Council of Romania (www.cna.ro) has granted a satellite license to Valtec Media Broadcasting SRL for a new Agro Channel to be broadcast in Romania and possibly in Moldova. The channel will begin broadcasting at the end of 2010.

    Agro Channel will air 24/7 with programs for the farmers in the18 to 65 age group. It follows the example of similar TV channels in Argentina, says the general manager of Agro Channel, Bogdan Tudor.

    Programming will be 40% informational, 10% educational, cultural and religious, 25% entertainment, 20% teleshopping and advertising, and 5% movies. Original programming will account for 80% of the output. Agro Channel has an investment of 100,000 euro, and estimates revenues of 900,000 euro by August 2011.
