Evo TV relaunches in Romania

By Iulia Blaga

Evo TV (www.evotv.ro), the first online television in Romania, was re-launched on 4 October 2010. The station was originally launched in 2007, but ceased broadcasts in July 2008. It will air exclusive interviews and programming with personalities from different fields in Romania.

Evo TV is making its content available free of charge for other television stations, online publications, journalists and blogs to use in video or text format. The station is run by general director Sergiu Mihalcea, who founded it three years ago. The team has a small staff of five to six persons, and the total investment is minimal.

Mihalcea says that the form, the rhythm and the delivery of the informations have changed, but the professional approach to interviews remains the same. In 2008 Evo TV was halted when Mihalcea accepted an offer to develop a new online project, Italics (www.italics.ro), which integrates original video content into Romanian sites.
