Cinema City Continues Expansion in Romania

    Cinema City opened its tenth multiplex in Romania in early April. The cinema, located in Braila has 10 screens and 2,135 seats and it's equipped with 5 digital projectors. Cinema City now operates a total of 98 screens in the country.

    "We are progressing in building up a countrywide cinema chain in Romania," said Nisan Cohen, Deputy CFO of Cinema City, the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel, adding, "We have binding agreements for over 20 cinemas in Bucharest and most of secondary cities in the country."

    Cohen concluded in a statement, "We observe growing cinema going level in Romania, which in 2010 sold 6.8 million tickets, 23% more over the previous year. We are happy to see that Romanian people like to watch movies in modern multiplexes and we are ready to offer them best cinema going standards across the country."

    In 2010 Romanian operations generated EUR 18.2 million (+135.8% over 2009), which were 8% of the Company's total revenues in 2010. In Romania Cinema City sold 3.1 million tickets (+101.4% over 2009).
