
| New TV Channels to Launch in Romania |

BUCHAREST: Realitatea TV (www.realitatea.net) will split into two separate channels due to recent differences between the ex-manager, Sebastian Ghita, and the station's owner Elan Schwartzenberg. Realitatea TV will continue as currently broadcast, and the news channel television, RTV, will re-brand into Romania TV starting 1 December 2011, operated by Ghita's company Ridzone Computers. Another news channel is expected to launch in December, after a delay from its original September launch date. Digi News will be operated by the biggest communication company in Romania, RCS&RDS (www.rcs-rds.ro). With the addition of Digi News there will be six news channel in Romania. Transilvania Channel (www.transilvania-channel.ro), operated by Someş Media Trust SRL from Cluj Napoca, recently received a satellite license from the National Audiovisual Council of Romania (www.cna.ro) which will enable it to move from a regional channel to a national one. The regional channel NCN (www.ncn.ro) which has been broadcasting in the Cluj region will be transform into Transilvania L!VE, a general national channel with regional content. Transilvania Channel and Transilvania L!VE are now part of Transilvania Media Group portfolio.
