BUCHAREST: Romanian
director Serban Marinescu will begin shooting The Charade a romantic drama produced by Giuliano Doman and Family
Film (www.familyfilm.ro) in early
February. Based on the script
written by Radu F. Alexandru, Şarada/The Charade tells the story of a
man haunted by his past - his wife mysteriously disappears in 1986 and just as
mysteriously re-enters his life 16 years later.
Shooting will last four weeks and will take place only in Bucharest. From the budget of 650,000 Euro, 250,000 Euro are covered by a production grant from the National Centre for Cinema (www.cncinema.abt.ro), Doman told FNE. Romanian public television (www.tvr.ro) and the Film Studio within the Romanian Ministry of Culture (www.cultura.ro) are co-producing. The Charade is set to be released in Romania in fall 2012.
