The film also earned a best female performance award for Klaudia Dudová. A second award in that category was given to María Renée Prudencio in the film Club Sandwich which also picked up the best director award for Fernando Eimbcke. The Norwegian film Letter to the King was another double award winner, with a special mention for director Hisham Zaman and the City of Trencianske Teplice’s Mayor’s Award.

Among the honorees at the 2014 festival were actress Claudia Cardinale and Hungarian director Istvan Szabo who also gave a master class attended by participants of the MIDPOINT training programme held during the festival.

An award recognizing the international achievements of Slovak filmmakers, presented by the Slovak media company Film Europe, was given to the filmmakers Peter Begányi and Andrej Kolenčík for the international festival success of their short film comedy The Exhibition.
