By FNE Staff
Slovak distribution company Intersonic has been nominated for Best European Distributor by the European Association of Animation Films for its Cartoon Movie Tributes.

The company was the lone nominee from Central Europe. Awards are also presented for best director and best producer.

The awards, which were launched in 2001, will take place on March 7 in Lyon, at the conclusion of a three-day conference on European animation.

Only five of the fifty films selected for the conference's pitching session come from Central Europe: Goat Story - The Old Prague Legends (Czech Republic); Jasper, Journey to the End of the World (France/Germany/Romania); Egill - The Last Pagan (Hungary/Iceland); Mexican Express (Estonia/Bulgaria); and Over Splodge Hill (Hungary/France).
