Bratislava festival launches two workshops
08 March 2010 By Cathy Meils
The Bratislava Film Festival is launching two major European initiatives in Bratislava to support emerging film talents: the Torino Film Lab and Script&Pitch workshops.

Fifty filmmakers from 25 coutries will be in Bratislava March 19-26 for the two programmes. The Torino Film Lab is a year-round, international laboratory that supports emerging talents from all over the world who are working on their first and second feature films, through training, development and funding activities. Torino Film Lab culminates at the Torino Film Festival in November, when projects are presented to 120 film professionals (producers, sales agents, distributors). A purse of more than €600,000 then goes to the Production Awards winning projects.

Fifteen projects have been chosen for the Script&Pitch session, which is supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union. Script&Pitch workshops will include a Slovak participant, scriptwriter Anita Obdržálková, who worked in the programme department of IFF Bratislava (www.iffbratislava.sk) in 2009

Grazyna Torbicka
FNE Ambassador for Poland

"For me its very very useful, I receive and read it every day. It is very useful to know what's going on in the region and it was previously an undiscovered area. FNE is doing a very good job. FNE informs us about not only film but also TV and production. Very often I am using some subjects from FNE in my TV programme"
