FNE at Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož: Houston, We Have a Problem! Takes the Main Prize

    PORTOROŽ: The long documentary Houston, We Have a Problem! by Žiga Virc won the Vesna Award for best picture of the 19th Slovenian Film Festival, which ran in Portorož from 13 to 18 September 2016. The film was also awarded for best actor and editing.

    Damjan Kozole won the Vesna Award for best director for Nighlife, which also won three other awards. Vesna Award for best screenplay went to Nebojša Pop Tasić and Olmo Omerzu for the Czech/German/French/Slovenian/Slovak coproduction Family Film

    The Audience Award went to Igor Šterk’s Come Along, that also won other awards including the Slovenian Art Cinema Association Award. Vlado Škafar's Mother won the Slovenian Federation of Film Critics Award.


    Altogether 98 films (52 in the competition and 46 out of the competition) were screened in Portorož. Ten feature films and four long documentaries competed for the Vesna awards.
