The Meetings on the Bridge presented eight feature films and two documentaries projects, along with one feature film and one documentary at the postproduction stage from Turkey. A total of 100 international filmmakers came to Istanbul to attend workshops, presentations of projects and to meet and network with the filmmakers from Turkey.
The awards ceremony held on 16 April took on added significance as the festival has cancelled its awards ceremony scheduled for 18 April because of the withdrawal of many films in the competitive sections of the festival by their producers in protest over what they see as government censorship. The Meetings on the Bridge will be the only awards of the festival this year.
