| Turkey Sets TV Sales Record |

The sale of Turkish TV shows to foreign buyers is expecte to break the $60 million mark in 2011. Bulgaria and Greece are the two countries where Turkish TV programmes are most popular, with half the viewing population watching Turkish programmes.
According to a report in Today's Zaman, the chairman of Calinos Holding, Firat Gulgen, said the Turkish programmes broke into new markets, which off-set the negative effect of uprisings in the Arab world, while Israel still remains open to Turkish programmes. Calinos Holding handles some 80% of Turkish exports of TV programming. Gulgen added that prices will remain stable. The cost per episode now varies from $500 to $15,000. |
