ANIMATION BUSINESS SEMINAR: 9-10 JUNE 2015, Warsaw

    Animation Business Seminar is aimed primarily at producers, directors and screenwriters of films and animation series, as well as, to all other participants of the Polish audiovisual sector.

    ANIMATION BUSINESS SEMINAR banerThe seminar focuses on unexciting, but important for the development and success of the film, business elements of the audiovisual production. During the two-day event experts from Denmark, Great Britain, France and Spain will speak about topics related mainly to strategic and business issues essential for production process. Oliver Hyatt, one of the founders of Blue-Zoo (UK), will talk about different business strategies, as well as how to position the company at the local market and internationally. Isabelle Fauvel from Initiative Film (France), specialist in the field of adaptation, will try to answer the following questions: whether we live in the era of adaptation, how to find the right book and how to negotiate with the publishers or other copyright owner. Lars Christiansen, producer and founder of Copenhagen-Bombay (Denmark), will help participants to understand whether branding is needed and how we can use it our business and projects.  The first day ends with a screening of the Spanish production Tad, The Lost Explorer (dir. Enrique Gato), which not only was a great success at the European markets, but also achieved high numbers in the US box office. On the following day Nicólas Matji, producer from Lightbox Animation Studios (Spain), will talk about his first steps in the world of licensing and merchandising. During the closed part of the seminar chosen producers and directors with the project of feature animation film or series will have a chance to consult our experts and get the feedback about their films and companies.

    Participation in the seminar is free of charge, but due to limited space requires prior registration on-line. Submissions via the web form can be send until 27th May. Producers interested in individual consultation, please fill in (in English) the form containing additional information about the company and the project. Confirmation of participation in the seminar will be sent until 3rd June, 2015.
