Dariusz Jabłoński, producer and director, has been re-elected as the Vice-President of the European Producers Club

    Dariusz Jabłoński, producer and director, has been re-elected as the Vice-President of the European Producers Club, the principal organisation of European film producers, joining the producers of films by Lars von Trier, Peter Greenaway and Emir Kusturica.

    During the current Cannes Festival, a European Producers Club assembly was held, and the new board of directors was elected. Dariusz Jabłoński, president of Apple Film Production, producer (“Under Electric Clouds“ awarded Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution atbBerlinale 2015) Aftermath”, “Karski and The Lords Of Humanity”), director and screenwriter, president of the Polish Film Academy and the member of European Film Academy, was appointed again the Vice-President of the EPC - a prestigious organisation gathering nearly 100 of the most active and influential film and tv producers from more than 20 European countries.

    Also on the board of directors of EPC are: Marco Chimenez, President (Italy, producer of, among others, TV series “Gomorra”), and Vice-Presidents: Johannes Rexin (Germany, producer of, among others, Lars von Trier’s “Antichrist”), Yves Marmion (France, producer of, among others, Peter Greenaway’s “The Baby Of Macon” or Emir Kusturica’s “Arizona Dream”) and Nina Laurio (Solarfilms from Finland).
    The European Producers Club is a think tank, simultaneously representing independent producers’ goals to the key international institutions where the audio-visual industry regulations are made. Most of all, it is an official consultant to the European Union in all matters concerning the film industry.

    “Trust of the most important European producers expressed in reelecting me, gives me even greater possibilities to fight for the future of Polish and European filmmaking as well as for the rights of authors and independent producers - said Dariusz Jablonski after the announcement. "During the ongoing festival I took part in a series of intensive top-level talks with Commissioner Oettinger about the projected directives of the European Commission on copyright and on audiovisual media services as well as on the future of the Media Creative Europe Programme. It seems that we have achieved success for European cultural identity and European film. "

    Dariusz Jabłoński is CEO of Apple Film Production, established 25 years ago as one of the first independent production companies in Poland. Its most recently completed projects include “Under The Electric Clouds”, a Russian-Ukrainian-Polish film directed by Alexei German Jr, an outstanding Russian director of the younger generation, awarded the Silver Bear at Berlinale 2015 , and Dutch-Polish co-production “Nude Area” by Urszula Antoniak, a director regarded as one of the most original personalities of contemporary European cinema. Add to this “Karski And The Lords Of Humanity”, an enthusiastically received documentary by EMMY Award winner Sławomir Grunberg.

    Apple Film is also the producer of top-shelf TV dramas, like the Władysław Pasikowski-directed “Cops” or co-productions: “The Passing Bells” (for BBC and Polish Television) and “Spies In Warsaw” (also Polish-British co-production).
