    EAVE Producers Workshop goes to Serbia

    Novi Sad (Serbia) is the location of the second session of the EAVE Producers Workshop from June 20–27 bringing together 51 participants from 29 countries and 17 scriptwriters with a selection of 30 top industry experts.

    The week in Novi Sad is co-financed by Film Center Serbia; Republic of Serbia, Ministry of Culture and Media and MEDIA Desk Serbia, and in collaboration with Art & Popcorn, Soul Food, Tosici Vines, European Film Festival Palic, Serbia Creates, Filmin Serbia and SENSE Production.


    This session is the second out of the three workshops of the year-long EAVE training for independent producers. The participants of this year were selected from a total of 180 applicants, and come from all over the world. In addition to most of the European member states, many other countries are represented as well, such as Angola, Canada, Cuba, Egypt, Lebanon, Nigeria and Qatar.

    Experts & sessions

    EAVE’s 2019 pedagogical core team includes EAVE Head of Studies Lise Lense-Møller (Magic Hour Films, DK), the four group leaders Didar Domehri (Maneki Films - Full House, FR), Ankica Juri? Tili? (Kinorama, HR), Titus Kreyenberg (unafilm, DE), and Riina Sildos (Amrion, EE); the script consultants Clare Downs (UK), Jacques Akchoti (FR), Martin Daniel (USA), TV series consultant Ossi Nishri (IL), and documentary expert Sylvia Stevens (Faction Films, UK). 

    They are supported by the specialized experts for Pitching: Sibylle Kurz (DE), Finance: Linda Beath (Ideal Filmworks, IT), Marketing: Sarah Calderon (The Film Agency, ES) and Legal Issues: Pierre-Emmanuel Mouthuy (BE). They are joined by Music rights expert Laurence Kaye (UK) and sales expert Agathe Mauruc (Pyramide International, FR).

    An expert panel – EAVE Head of Studies Lise Lense-Møller, EAVE Finance Expert Linda Beath, producers Amra Bakši?-?amo (SCCA/pro.ba, BA), Danny Krausz (DOR Film, AT), Malene Flindt Pedersen (Hansen & Pedersen, DK) and Jani Thiltges (SAMSA Film, LU), as well as Petri Kemppinen (Nordisk Film & TV Fond, NO) and Tine Klint (Level K, DK) – will advise on the selected projects’ finance plans. 

    Script consultant Anita Voorham (Bravado Film, NL) will share her insight with the producers on how to work with talent, while writer/director and script consultant Ognjen Svilicic (HR) will discuss with the scriptwriters how to deal with feedback.

    Sergio Garcia (Eurimages, FR) will give an insight of the rules and regulations of Eurimages and share concrete tips for preparing your application.

    Spotlight on the local film industry

    The local film industry presents itself to the EAVE participants in a special session on Producing in and with Serbia by Andjelija Andric and Marija Ristic from Film Centre Serbia, Tanja Mitic from Serbia Film Commission and EAVE National Coordinator in Serbia, producer Miroslav Mogorovic from Art & Popcorn.

    In addition, on June 24, EAVE organises a tailor-made EAVE@Novi Sad workshop for local producers. In this workshop, EAVE Finance Expert Linda Beath gives an update on Digital Single Market and EAVE Head of Studies Lise Lense-Møller shares her long experience on Developing Documentaries. In addition, the plenary sessions of the whole workshop are open for local industry professionals and a special networking event with the EAVE producers is organized during the week.
