The 14th edition of Sarajevo Talents welcomes 62 prospective actors, cinematographers, directors, editors, film critics, producers, and screenwriters from South-Eastern Europe and South Caucasus. Among them are eight Croatian professionals. Talents Sarajevo will be held entirely online, from 14th to 18th August.

This year's program is being held under the name 'New Beginnings', and more than a third of all the candidates come from Greece (16), Romania (10), and Croatia (8). 62 industry professionals from 14 countries were selected for participation in the program. This year, the promising filmmakers come from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Turkey.

In line with the position taken by Sarajevo Film Festival to be held in a modified format for the prevention of pandemic, this year’s Talents Sarajevo will not take place at the festival locations in Sarajevo, but only online. The possibility of adjusting the new edition of Talents Sarajevo to the situation caused by the Coronavirus was announced already in April, in the call for applications to this year’s program. However, this did not discourage 305 directors, screenwriters, producers, actors, camera operators, editors, and film critics from applying to the 'New Beginnings', which was also announced as a forum for research of a series of direct pandemic effects on film as art and industry.

The Sarajevo Talents program will keep the structure of eight modules: Directors Summit, Producers Summit, Acting Studio, Camera Studio, Editing Studio, Pack&Pitch, Script Station, and Talents Press.

Croatian Sarajevo Talents participants are Tajna Peršić, Lukrecija Tudor and Rok Juričić (actors), Dalia Alić (producer), Davor Marenjak (cinematographer); Ivana Perčinlić (editor); Andrea Slaviček (screenwriter) and Dina Pokrajac (film critic).

Talents Sarajevo was launched in cooperation with the Berlin International Film Festival and the Berlinale Talents program. During the last 14 years, the program has continuously developed and grown into a regional intersection for connecting and training prospective film workers. Besides gathering young filmmakers and offering them an opportunity for professional development, this platform allows participants to become familiar with works by established experts, informs them of contemporary processes in the film industry and arts, and presents them to regional and international film communities.

The 14th annual Talents Sarajevo is to be held in parallel with the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, from 14th to 21st August, both on-site and online. Croatian titles and Croatian minority co-productions will screen in various competition programs of the festival: Andrea Štaka’s MareĐuro Gavran’s One of UsAntiotpad, directed by Tin ŽanićMicrocassette – The Smallest Cassette I've Ever Seen, directed by Igor Bezinović and Ivana PipalAngina Pectoris, directed by Filip Mojzeš, and Faceless by David Lušičić
