DISCOP set for record attendance in 2008

DISCOP EAST SET FOR RECORD ATTENDANCE AND

    EXTENDED EXHIBITION SPACE IN 2008

Paris/Los Angeles, 28 February - Leading central and Eastern European content market DISCOP EAST, has registered more than 1100 participants to date - an increase of 22% on this time last year, it was announced today by Patrick Jucaud, General Manager, DISCOP and Rick Feldman, President and CEO, NATPE, DISCOP's joint partner.

DISCOP EAST, which is attended by international distributors and buyers across all genres, will take place 18-20 June, 2008 in Budapest. This year delegates will take a further exhibition level, extending the event to six floors of the Sofitel Atrium Hotel.

In addition to individual companies exhibiting at DISCOP EAST there is a growing presence of national pavilions with France, Spain, Israel, Korea and Italy already signed up to the event in 2008.

To launch this year's market on the preceding evening there will be an informal briefing, open to all delegates particularly those new to DISCOP EAST, which will give an up to date and in depth overview of the Central and Eastern European marketplace and its television stations and content acquisition policies.

Patrick Jucaud comments, "We are very excited to confidently predict that DISCOP EAST will be even larger in 2008, as our many clients regard the event as one of the key markets in their selling year. As well as the main distributors from around the world who regularly attend to have unprecedented access to acquisitions executives from the region, we are seeing an increasing number of Central and Eastern European distributors who are using the opportunity to sell to their counterparts in other CEE countries."

Founded in 1991, DISCOP is the only television content market strictly targeted at Central and Eastern Europe. After 15 years of operating independently, the DISCOP organisation has partnered since 2005 with the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE). NATPE is a global non-profit organization dedicated to the creation, development and distribution of televised programming in all forms, across all mature and emerging media platforms.
