DRG COMPANIES REPORT STRONG DISCOP

 

London, 24 July 2008 - Companies which form part of the Digital Rights Group (DRG) returned from DISCOP last month with a range of confirmed deals, it was announced today.

 

C4i, one of the UK's most prestigious distribution brands signed a package of programming to Polsat for its lifestyle channels.  The deal includes all series and specials for the International Emmy award-winning Brat Camp - incorporating five series (23 x 50' in total) and Brat Camp USA (7 x 50').  Produced by Twenty Twenty Television, Brat Camp presents zero tolerance in a world of youthful bad behaviour as unruly teenagers are parted from their families and sent to a ranch-style behavioural modification camp.

 

Formats, entertainment and events specialists Zeal Entertainment report deals closed across the region with the international smash hit format Singing Bee confirmed for Russia and second season commissions in a number of territories including Hungary, who plan to move the show to a prime-time slot on TV2.  Created by The Gurin Company and Juma Entertainment, Singing Bee has proved a runaway success for Zeal Entertainment, achieving one of the fastest roll-outs of an international format.

 

ID Distribution, leaders in the fields of lifestyle, entertainment and reality programming wrapped a number of sales in Budapest, including a package of human interest documentaries to Poland's Polsat for its lifestyle channels.  Titles acquired included Mums Who Leave Their Kids (1 x 60', A betty production for Sky One), Alexis Arquette: She's My Brother (1 x 60', A Tigerlily production for Channel 4 & A&E Networks), Three In A Bed (1 x 50', A Landmark production for Five) and Help! I've Got a High Maintenance Wife (1 x 60', Whizz Kid Entertainment Production for Five).  Also included are Wedding Gown Secrets Revealed, Lingerie Secrets Revealed and Swimsuit Secrets Revealed (4 x 60' in total, A WE tv production from Rainbow Media) and Diary of a Mail Order Bride, Diary of a Mistress and Diary of a Virgin (3 x 60' in total, A betty production for Channel 4).

Digiturk Turkey secured rights to three series featuring Nigella Lawson - Nigella Feasts (13 x 30'), Nigella Express (13 x 30'), both Pacific / Pabulum productions for The Food Network US and Nigella (20 x 30'), a Prospect Pictures production for ITV1 Network) for its Home TV channel.  Just ahead of the market, Estonia's Kanal 11 also acquired Nigella Express and Nigella Feasts and BBC Entertainment acquired series four of The Real Hustle (10 x 30', Objective Productions production for BBC Three) and two series of Eataholics (15 x 30', A betty production for BBC Three) for its Polish channel.  The Real Hustle was also picked up as a format for Russia through production company Red Planet who will be producing fifteen episodes of the hit UK series.
