The members of the Committee were representatives of the following Hungarian professional organizations:

Báron György - Association of Hungarian Film Artists,

Miklós Szita - Hungarian Independent Producers Association,

László Sipos - Hungarian Producers Association,

József Rák (HSC) - Hungarian Society of Cinematographers,

András Fésős - Hungarian Directors' Guild.

Taxidermia is the second feature of György Pálfi (1974) one of the most talented representatives of the new generation of Hungarian film directors. His first feature, the EFA Fassbinder Award winner Hukkle was screened at more than 100 film festivals and released in art house theatres worldwide.

György Pálfi' second feature, Taxidermia handling "three stories, three ages, three men" was the main prize winner of the Hungarian Film Week in 2006. The world premiere of the film was held at Cannes's Un Certain Regard selection last year. Chicago IFF and Antalya's Eurasia IFF awarded Best Director trophy and Brussles Iris Award went also to the Hungarian-Austrian-French coproduction. Taxidermia was produced by Budapest based Eurofilm Studio headed by Péter Miskolczi and Gábor Váradi.

World sales right of the movie is handled by Fortissimo Films. Taxidermia has already been released in Austrian, Belgian, Dutch, French, German, Norwegian and UK theatres. American, Far and Middle East moviegoers will have the chance to see György Pálfi Taxidermia soon.

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences will announce the nominations - the five features from among the national entries - to compete for the Oscar statuette in the category of Best Foreign Language Film of the Year on 22nd January.

The 80th Annual Academy Awards Presentation will be held on February 24th, 2008 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
