Documentary and Fiction Feature Projects
Between October 27 - 31, EEFA Training Network is organizing the third workshop of this year, Management of Film Production Workshop in Kyiv, in partnership with Molodist International Film Festival.
After two workshops dedicated to the craft of scriptwriting for seven documentary and eight fiction features from European and Non-European countries, it is time for the producers of these fifteen projects to benefit from the teachings of our experts, lead by Head of Studies Catherine Buresi, Co-director of the Berlinale European Film Market: Content Expert Jacques Laurent, co-founder of Télévision Du Monde and Capnetwork Belgium, and Production Expert Patrice Vivancos, from the MEDIA European Audiovisual Programme.
This session of workshops is the first one to bring together all the projects participating at EEFA Training Network this year and will focus on working with international budget models for the developing of feasible financing plans and efficient, realistic estimating of production budgets. The trainers will interact with the participating producers both in group sessions and in one to one meetings, and will discuss key aspects of film production such as the complexity of financing, the multiplicity of funds and the necessity for the producers to have the right information and tools for accessing the sources of finances, possibilities to access funds, networking at markets and co-production meetings, successful pitching.
Evenings will be dedicated to business activities, networking and viewings at the Molodist International Film Festival.
Apart from the projects currently in training, Romania was chosen to organize a case study viewing with internationally awarded films produced by an EEFA 2010 graduate producer: Daniel Badea, founder of Temple Film Production Company. Daniel Badea graduated EEFA 2010 programme with the feature fiction film “Little Spartan”, directed by Dragos Iuga. Starting September, Daniel Badea is also EEFA 2011 Financial Coordinator.
East European Film Alliance is a consortium of eleven countries coordinated by the Romanian Film Sector and has for 2011 the following partners: Ukraine, Moldova, Croatia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The initiative is supported this year by MEDIA Mundus.
