VILNIUS: Nine feature film projects are among the recipients of 205,000 EUR in development funding announced by the Lithuanian Film Center.

BUCHAREST: Radu Jude's 1.4 m EUR film Aferim! has received 180,000 EUR from Film und Medienstiftung in advance of its mid-June 2014 production start.

BUCHAREST: The 18th edition of the European Film Festival will take place in Bucharest between 9 and 15 May 2014 and in Târgu-Mureş between 16 and 18 May, showing 42 films from 25 countries.

FNE at Finale Plzen: To the Sea

PLZEN: Expect intense interest when leading young Czech and international actor Jiří Mádl (Borgia, Four Suns, Colette) makes his directorial and scriptwriting debut with To See a Sea (Pojedeme k mori), which screens under the title To the Sea in competition at the 27th Finale Plzen festival, running 27 April – 3 May 2014.

The Institute of Documentary Film introduces the projects which will participate in the 2014 edition of DOK.Incubator.

FNE at Finale Plzen: Colette

PLZEN: The first day of competition at the 27th Finale Plzen national festival of Czech and Slovak films offers up Milan Cieslar’s English-lingo Colette.

KRAKOW: Twenty films will compete in the documentary competition of the 54th Krakow Film Festival, which runs 25 May to 1 June 2014.

BEIJING: Eleven Works-in-progress from Center and Eastern Europe will be presented during the Beijing Film Market.
