The film is based on the story by Kathryn Bolkovac, who went to Bosnia as peacekeeper in 1999. Larysa Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan wrote the script. The film is an independent drama, produced by Amy Kaufman with Primary Productions (www.primaryprod.com), Christina Piovesan with First Generation Films (firstgenerationfilms.com) and Celine Rattray with Plum Pictures (www.plumpic.com). Voltage Pictures (www.voltagepictures.com) is in charge of the international sales. The producers originally had planned to shoot in Hungary. The shooting is to take place this year. No official information from MediaPro Pictures has been released. According to Romanian news reports, Weisz is expected in Romania at the end of September, her second time filming in Romania.
