LJUBLJANA: Slovenian director Nejc Gazvoda (27) has begun shooting on Dual, a love story between two girls, a Slovenian and a Danish, his first film after his acclaimed debut feature A Trip/Izlet.

SARAJEVO: Director Šahin Šišić is in very early development with Hotel Drina, a cinematic adaptation of the play I Left My Heart in Zvornik, by the writer, scriptwriter and poet Abdulah Sidran (Do You Remember Dolly Bell?, When Father Was Away on Business).

ZAGREB: Croatian writer/director Dalibor Matanic (www.dalibormatanic.com) is developing The High Sun, a Romeo and Juliet-based love story about two people from different villages, religious and ethnic groups.  

WARSAW: Polish director Lidia Duda (Entangled) is working on a documentary, Everything is Possible (Wszystko jest możliwe), about a 78-year old female hitch-hiker, who – speaking almost no foreign languages – travels around the world on her 200 EUR pension.

WARSAW: The Wajda Studio (www.wajdastudio.com) has completed shooting on its second feature film, The Performer, the directing debut from Maciej Sobieszczanski and Łukasz Ronduda.

ZAGREB: Director/screenwriter Snjezana Tribuson is developing All the Best, a romantic comedy set to shoot in autumn-winter 2013 for the Croatian company Kinorama (www.kinorama.hr).

WARSAW: Accomplished Polish film directors Greg Zglinski and Borys Lankosz are shooting a new crime series Paradox for public broadcaster TV Polska (www.tvp.pl), scheduled for a 6 September 2012

ZAGREB: Director/producer/playwriter and actor Filip Sovagovic who played one of the main characters in Danis Tanovic's No Man's Land is developing a cinematic adaptation of the Predrag Matvejevic bestseller Mediterranean Breviary: A Cultural Landscape, translated in 27 languages.

BUCHAREST: Belgian director Benny Vandendriessche is in preparation with his debut feature, Drift, a low-budget film planned to shoot entirely in Romania 10 - 25 September 2012 and for three weeks in January 2013. Romanian company 4Proof Film (www.4prooffilm.ro) is providing services.

TALLINN: Estonian director Ilmar Raag (The Class, Une Estonienne a Paris) has wrapped shooting of his new social drama, Kertu, with the premiere planned for spring 2013.

BUDAPEST: Ferenc Moldovanyi (Another Planet) is working on a creative documentary about the veteran American film critic Ron Holloway who died in 2009 at age of 76.

TALLINN: The Venice Horizons award-winning Estonian director Veiko Õunpuu is shooting his third feature film with the working title Free Range, scheduled for release in March 2013.

WARSAW: Maciej Sobieszczański and Lukasz Ronduda are shooting The Performer, the first full length feature film from Wajda Studio.

WARSAW: Juliusz Machulski, the director of Sexmission and Vabank, has completed filming his new fantasy comedy AmbaSSada (EmbaSSy).

BUCHAREST: Diana Munteanu (23) is shooting her first long documentary by the Danube Delta. Sulina:Trapped in Paradise (working title) is a Romanian-Polish coproduction set to be finished next year.

BUCHAREST: Dan Piţa (Stone Wedding) is in early preproduction with a cinematic adaptation of Romanian writer Panait Istrati’s 1923 novella Chira Chiralina.
