Slovak 2010 Grants Announced

The Slovak Audiovisual Fund announced grants totaling 520,000 euros for fiction films and 82,100 euros for documentary films, along with 28,700 euros for other film projects.

Slovak Audiovisual Fund announces its first grants

The Slovak Audiovisual Fund (http://www.avf.sk/) has approved grants totalling 1,245,300 Euro in its first round of support for Slovak films. It received 172 applications requesting a total of 9.5 million Euros.

FNE VIsegrad Country Focus:Slovaks Establish New System of Grant Funding in 2009

On November 5, 2008, Act 516/2008 Coll. on the Audiovisual Fund and the Amendment of Certain Acts was adopted, which went into effect on January 1, 2009.

In practical terms, this meant funding by the Ministry of Culture was handed over to the newly established and independent AudioVisual Fund.

" The Ministry of Culture will be from now on just one of the supporters of the audiovisual industry. The fund will be an independent institution," said Anton Škreko, the director of Audiovisual programme at the Ministry of Culture.
