BELGRADE: Young Milena Grujić (born in 1994) is the first Serbian director to helm an American action film. She is currently directing Catalyst Studios’ Hitwoman, an English-speaking film shot in Serbia with an international cast. The production plans to apply for Serbia’s tax rebate scheme.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Nemanja Ćeranić is currently shooting his sophomore feature Sunday / Nedelja, a biopic focusing on the life of the popular Serbian folk singer Džej Ramadanovski (1964-2020). Film Center Serbia is supporting the project.

BELGRADE: Serbian director Radivoje Andrić’s sequel to his own hit Dudes / Munje! (2021, produced by Yodi Movie Craftsman) made a strong opening in its first week of domestic distribution. Dudes: Again! / Munje: Opet! reached 51,893 admissions and 220,625 EUR / 25,843,399 RSD gross.

BELGRADE: The Vice-President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Culture Maja Gojković and the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy Antonio Tajani signed an Agreement on film coproduction in Belgrade on 21 March 2023.

BELGRADE: Luka Mihailović’s debut feature Indigo Crystal / Indigo Kristal, which was released by Art Vista on 9 March 2023, has taken the lead in the Serbian box office in its first week of theatrical distribution with 35,277 admissions and 150,040 EUR / 17,601,928 RSD gross.

BELGRADE: The Iranian film World War Three directed by Houman Seyyedi won the Belgrade Victor Awards for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor in the main competition of the 51th FEST, which wrapped in Belgrade on 5 March 2023.

BELGRADE: Belgrade-based Firefly Productions is currently in preproduction with the first Serbian high-end superhero drama series, Generation Tesla, whose production is set to commence in 2024.

BELGRADE: The closing film of the 51st edition of the International Film Festival – FEST is Mouth Full of Earth / Usta puna zemlja, the last film by great veteran Mladomir Puriša Đorđević, who died on 23 November 2022 at the age of 99. FEST is running in Belgrade 24 February - 5 March 2023.
