According to the production, In the Heart of the Machine is the first Bulgarian film with 4K and HDR (High Dynamic Range) quality.

VARNA: Kamen Kalev’s fourth feature film February will screen in the main competition of the 39th Golden Rose National Film Festival (23–29 September 2021). This French/Bulgarian coproduction was a participant of the 56th Cannes 2020 and received the Official Selection label. The director’s previous features were screened in different parallel sections of the Cannes Film Festival.

VARNA: Victor Bojinov’s The Naked Truth about Zhiguli Band will screen in the main competition of the 39th Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2021). This low budget musical comedy has had a record number of admissions since its theatrical release on 16 April 2021, and despite the reduced capacity of cinemas it has entered the Bulgarian Top 5 of the last 30 years.

VARNA: Borislav Kostov’s sophomore feature I Don’t Like You will screen in the main competition of the 39th Golden Rose National Film Festival (23–29 September 2021).The film focuses on the refugees and the lack of tolerance for their life difficulties and sufferings.

VARNA: Andrey M Paunov’s debut feature January will screen in the main competition of the 39th Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2021). The film is a coproduction between Bulgaria, Portugal and Luxembourg.

VARNA: Mina Mileva's and Vesela Kazakova’s sophomore feature Women Do Cry will screen in the main competition of the 39th Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2021).The Bulgarian/French coproduction had its world premiere in the 2021 Cannes Un Certain Regard competition.

VARNA: Alexander Kossev’s debut feature Petya of My Petya will screen in the main competition of the 39th Golden Rose National Film Festival (23 – 29 September 2021). This low budget film is dedicated to the memory of the early deceased cult poet Petya Dubarova, who committed suicide in 1979 at the age of 17.
