ZAGREB: Kristijan Milić’s TV movie Number 55/ Broj 55 is in production on location in Zagreb for Telefilm and public broadcaster Croatian TV (HRT).

The production, which uses many battles scenes and special effects as it describes a reconnaissance mission undertaken by a group of Croatian soldiers attacked by Serbs during the 1991 war, is scheduled to shoot over several months. The premiere is set for summer 2014 on HRT.

The script written by Ivan Pavličić is inspired by real events.

“We believe it will be an excellent work and that there will be a lot of interest for it, both in Croatia and abroad,” representatives of HRT told FNE. The budget is approximately 853,000 EUR / 6.5m HRK.

This is not the first film made by Telefilm for HRT. As it is legally committed to spend up to 15% of its annual programme budget for purchasing projects from independent producers, HRT periodically organises contests to select producers with suitable projects, which can be series or films.
