Hungarian audiences eat up Movie Feast

    This year's Movie Feast, Moziunnep 2008 (www.moziunnep.hu), brought more than 400,000 spectators to cinemas, organizer Upper Studio announcemed.

    Moziunnep is a four-day event when tickets are discounted to a maximum ticket price of HUF 490, or around 2 euros. This year's Moziunnep took place September 25-28 in 69 cinemas throughout the country, with over 200 movies screened.

    Budapest's Palace West End owned by Palace Cinemas (www.palacecinemas.hu) saw the highest attendance:39,339. The most popular art cinema was again the Muvesz mozi run by Budapest Film Zrt. (www.budapestfilm.hu) with attendance of 5,155. Outside Budapest, the most successful cinemas were in Gyor and Szekesfehervar both with the attendance 20,000. The most popular movie was the Hollywood blockbuster Mamma Mia! by Phyllida Lloyd with the attendance 33,300 just in the capitol.

    The organizer of the Moziunnep is Upper Studio (www.upperstudio.com) which also organizes the annual French Film Days in Hungary.
