EU funding will come from the budget of the government programme Digital Poland 2014-20120 as part of the project Digital reconstruction and digitalisation of Polish feature, documentary and animated films in order to ensure their access to all fields of distribution (cinema, television, Internet, mobile devices) and preserving them for future generations of Polish film heritage. It will allow Polish film studios to digitalise, archive and allow access to over 160 Polish feature films as well as several thousand documentaries and film chronicles by the end of 2020.
The project will be implemented by seven Polish film studios specialising in digitalisation: Studio Filmowe TOR, Studio Filmowe KADR, Studio Filmowe ZEBRA, Wytwórnię Filmów Dokumentalnych i Fabularnych, Studio Filmów Rysunkowych, Studio Filmowe Kronika and Studio Miniatur Filmowych.
