The script is still in the writing process. The only production company confirmed so far is Mobra Films. The development of the project was supported by the MEDIA Sub-programme of Creative Europe and the Romanian Film Center gave it a production grant of approximately 520,000 EUR / 2,348,010 RON in December 2016. The budget has not been disclosed.
Cristian Mungiu told FNE that the shooting is set for December 2018 – February 2019 with the premiere loosely set for 2019.
Daniel Sandu’s debut feature One Step Behind the Seraphim / Un pas in urma serafimilor (produced by HiFilm Productions and distributed by Micro Film), ranked fourth in the domestic box office in 2017 with 31,550 admissions and 81,587 EUR / 378,209 RON gross.
