NICOSIA: Writer/director Yeliz Shukri is investigating the fate of thousands of Turkish-Cypriot girls sold into marriage between 1920 and 1940 through the story of one of them. 

BUCHAREST: Nae Caranfil, whose first English speaking feature Closer to the Moon starring Vera Farmiga and Mark Strong is still in postproduction, is developing 6.9 on Richter/6,9 pe scara Richter, a comedy with a musical touch. 

BUCHAREST: Romanian producer/writer/director Anca Damian has begun production on the animated documentary The Magic Mountain, the second part of her Death (and Life) Trilogy which started with the 2011 award winning Crulic - The Path to Beyond/Crulic - Drumul spre dincolo.

ZAGREB: Finnish writer/director Arto Halonen (Princess, Pavlov’s Dogs) is in postproduction with the first Finnish-Croatian coproduction, a comedy about the doping-phenomenon notable for the casting of Canadian Olympic athlete Ben Johnson, who relinquished his gold medal when he tested positive for doping, in a minor role.

WARSAW: Polish producer Opus Film may join the international coproduction of the drama The Cut by German director Fatih Akin.  Opus Film was also a coproducer on the sci-fi film The Congress directed by Ari Folman which premiered at the 66th Cannes IFF.

CRACOW: Polish director Wojciech Smarzowski's completes shooting on his drama The Mighty Angel on 18 May 2013, concluding 47 days of filming that began in November 2012.

WARSAW: The Rose and The Ring, a 75-minute animated film directed by Zofia Oldak based on the classic English fairy tale of William Makepeace Thackeray is in production at Studio Miniatur Filmowych.

WARSAW: After eight years of preparation, Jan Komasa started shooting his Warsaw Uprising film City 44 on 11 May 2013 in Warsaw.

NICOSIA: Award winning writer/director Christos Siopachas is in postproduction with Five Shilling Nylon, a love story set in 1950 about a miller whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of a young married woman at the mill.

WARSAW: The third part of a 26-episode series slated for broadcast in Poland and Argentina, Hip-Hip & Hurra, is in the final stage of production. 

BRATISLAVA: Slovak producer/director Juraj Kilián debuts with Intrigues, a coproduction of the four Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) mainly financed by the Visegrad Fund. 

NICOSIA: Stavros Papageorghiou is in postproduction with Kypris - The Great Goddess of Cyprus, a 60 minute documentary offering an exploration of the worship of the goddess Aphrodite from an archeological, mythological, religious, art and tradition perspective. 

WARSAW: Poland’s Braidmade Films teams up with Germany’s 27 Films Productions to co-produce The Fox, a feature film based on the D.H. Lawrence book and directed by Matthias Luthardt.

NICOSIA: Writer/director Stelana Kliris will begin shooting Committed a small budget romantic comedy and road movie on 24 May 2013. 

WARSAW: New Blood (Nowa krew), a documentary about Polish villagers who emigrate to Iceland will go into preproduction in summer 2013. 

WARSAW: One Man Show, the story of struggling 33-year-old actor Marcin Sitek, is midway through a 16 month shoot.
