WARSAW: Agata Alexander is shooting her debut sci fi thriller Warning, an American/Polish production, in Warsaw. The cast includes Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tomasz Kot and Rupert Everett.
TBILISI: Georgian director David Gurgulia is in postproduction with And the Others, a long documentary that he's shot in Georgia since 2017. Gurgulia previously made the short feature film Dialect (produced by Giorgi Tetiashvili), which had its International Premiere as part of European Film Promotion’s Future Frames, at the 2018 edition of Karlovy Vary.
TBILISI: Georgian director Ioseb Bliadze is currently in postproduction with his debut feature film Otar’s Death, a coproduction between Georgia, Germany and Lithuania.
PRAGUE: Polish director Agnieszka Holland began filming the Czech/Irish/Polish/Slovak coproduction Charlatan in the Czech Republic on 1 April 2019. Filming will continue throughout the months of April and June in Central Bohemia.
VILNIUS: Karolis Kaupinis's first feature film Nova Lituania is in the final stage of postproduction.
TBILISI: The acclaimed Georgian director George Ovashvili is working on two new feature films – Beautiful Elene, with preproduction set for the summer of 2019 and production for September 2019, and The Moon Is a Father of Mine, with preproduction set for the autumn of 2019 and shooting for the winter of 2020.
NICOSIA: The science fiction martial arts film Jiu Jitsu directed by Dimitri Logothetis and starring Nicolas Cage is set to be shot entirely in Cyprus. This is the first international project to be shot in Cyprus, a country that launched cash rebates of up to 35 per cent on qualifying expenditures in 2018.
TBILISI: Georgian writer/director Besik Solomonashvili is in postproduction with Veggie Garden in the Conflict Zone, his debut feature film that he shot in Georgia in August 2018.
SOFIA: Mostly known for his documentaries, the Bulgarian director Svetoslav Draganov started shooting his debut feature Waterfall CEO on 23 March 2019. The film is a Bulgarian/Romanian coproduction supported by the Bulgarian National Film Center and the Romanian Film Centre.
TBILISI: The established Georgian alternative musician and writer/director Konstantine Kalandadze is in postproduction with his debut feature The Drummer. The premiere is planned for an A-class film festival in 2019.
