SEVILLE: Eighteen films from CEE are among the 49 films chosen for the EFA Feature Film Selection. The nominations for the 2018 EFA Awards will be announced at the Seville European Film Festival on 10 November 2018, while the 31st European Film Awards will take place in Seville on 15 December 2018.

FNE Oscar Watch 2019 21-08-2018TALLINN: Liina Triškina-Vanhatalo’s drama Take It or Leave It has been chosen by a committee appointed by the Estonian Film Institute as the official candidate from Estonia for an Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
The first documentary film summer school organized by the CinéDOC-Tbilisi International Documentary Film Festival will take place from 18 – 26 August in Gori, Georgia. CinéDOC summer school is an intensive week of lectures, exercises, film screenings and one-to-one meetings, conducted by an international team of specialists within the field of this year’s focus: Framing Reality.
SARAJEVO: The Ukrainian/Belarussian coproduction My Granny from Mars directed by Alexandar Mihalkovich and Birthday directed by Hilal Baydarov from Azerbaijan received the Docu Talents from the East Award ex-aequo during the 2018 Sarajevo Film Festival. At the same event, representatives of the Ji.hlava IDFF also revealed the names of the Emerging Producers 2019.

Sarajevo FF and Directors' Fortnight in Cannes Team Up for Short Film Initiative
Bosnia-Herzegovina 20-08-2018SARAJEVO: Six young filmmakers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Serbia will co-write and co-direct a 10-minute film with a young director from outside the region. The films will premiere on the opening day of Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, as the Sarajevo Film Festival has teamed up with Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and the French company DW on the 2019 edition of short film initiative The Factory.
