Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival announces the focus programme of 2018: the 100-year-olds
Festivals 31-10-2018Driven by Estonia’s 100th anniversary celebrations, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival focuses on 12 countries that are celebrating their centenary this year, offering a rich retrospective with films made between 1958-1977.
ZAGREB: Twelve directors’ first and second feature films are competing for the main award and a prize of 4,000 EUR at the Zagreb Film Festival, running 11-18 November
PRAGUE: Nine projects and two development executives account for the 20 participants selected for the 2019 edition of MIDPOINT TV Launch, a nine-month long programme which begins in November 2018 in Slovakia before moving on to workshops in the Czech Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
16 projects will be presented in the official selection of the Co-Production Market taking place on November 27-30, 2018, at Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event during Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. The market's 17th edition contains stories of both personal and political repression, touches on mental health issues, and features a number of films about female connection.
TALLINN: Eleven projects in the advanced stages of production or post-production from the Baltic region will be presented at the 16th annual Baltic Event Works in Progress programme, taking place on 28 November 2018.

19 films in production or post-production looking for sales agents or festivals for international premieres will be presented at the Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event Work in Progress sessions on November 28. This year’s edition will take place from November 26–30.
RIGA: Core of the World, a Russian/Lithuanian coproduction directed by Natalia Meshchaninova, won the Best Film Award at the Riga International Film Festival, which concludes on 31 October 2018.
