VILNIUS: A restored 1969 classic The Beauty by the Lithuanian director Arūnas Žebriūnas was released in French cinemas on 22 August 2018. This is the first time that a Lithuanian classic film runs in multiple cinemas outside the country.

Festivals 22-08-2018XIII Batumi International Art-house Film Festival will be held in Batumi during September 16-23 September, 2018, closed film submission on 5 August. Festival organizer is “Batumi Art-house ARGANI”, official partner – Batumi City Hall.

FNE Oscar Watch 2019 21-08-2018TALLINN: Liina Triškina-Vanhatalo’s drama Take It or Leave It has been chosen by a committee appointed by the Estonian Film Institute as the official candidate from Estonia for an Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
The first documentary film summer school organized by the CinéDOC-Tbilisi International Documentary Film Festival will take place from 18 – 26 August in Gori, Georgia. CinéDOC summer school is an intensive week of lectures, exercises, film screenings and one-to-one meetings, conducted by an international team of specialists within the field of this year’s focus: Framing Reality.
SARAJEVO: The Ukrainian/Belarussian coproduction My Granny from Mars directed by Alexandar Mihalkovich and Birthday directed by Hilal Baydarov from Azerbaijan received the Docu Talents from the East Award ex-aequo during the 2018 Sarajevo Film Festival. At the same event, representatives of the Ji.hlava IDFF also revealed the names of the Emerging Producers 2019.
