VILNIUS: Seven Lithuanian films will be presented at the European Film Market at the Berlinale IFF.

PRAGUE: Geraldine Chaplin will be the star attraction at the 20th edition of Febiofest  running 14-22 March 2013 in Prague and touring 12 cities in the Czech Republic through 12 April.

BUDAPEST: HBO Europe has appointed three executives in the field of original programming and production.

New coproduction opportunities continue to broaden the possibilities for European production companies, as evidenced by recent announcements from Norway and EAVE.

The Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia are fielding a joint Central European Cinema stand at the European Film Market during the Berlinale, running through 17 February 2013.

 

PRAGUE: The private Czech television channel, Pet (Five), ended broadcasts in early February 2013, after less than four months on air.

FNE together with Europa Cinemas continues its Cinema of the Month series. In recognition of the hard work and excellence of European cinema operators we choose a cinema from each country covered by FNE each month. We look at the challenges and the successes faced by those cinemas with a special series of interviews that offer insights that other operators can benefit from and a platform for the exchange of ideas. This month we focus on Estonia and Tiina Savi, the manager of Kino Sõprus, Tallinn.

BRATISLAVA: Slovakia celebrated the Tiger Award for My Dog Killer, a Czech-Slovak coproduction from Slovak director Mira Fornay, and the first Slovak film to compete at Rotterdam.
