Tallinn reveals a vibrant slate of European Genre Forum Pilot talents & Baltic Event co-production projects

    European genre talents get into action at European Genre Forum pilot

    European Genre Forum, the creative camp for the hottest European genre film talent sees 16 filmmakers take over Industry @ Tallinn with fresh ‘in development’ projects. The pilot organized in partnership with established players of the genre circuit, Night Visions Film Festival (Helsinki), Fantastic Zagreb FF (Zagreb), and Screen Division Consultancy (Paris) sets to boost the careers for future players in the genre biz through a week of trainings, panels and pitching sessions in conjunction with Goethe-Institute’s Creative Camp Tallinn.
    The 10 directing and producing talents put forward by EGF partners include Seth Ickerman (Spain), Helen Lõhmus & Oskar Lehemaa (Estonia), Talal Selhami (France), Aleksi Hyvärinen, Misha Jaari & Vesa Virtanen (Finland), Nevo Marasovic & Tea Korolija (Croatia), Vanja Vascarac (Serbia), and Aik Karpetian (Latvia) presenting their ongoing projects at the inaugural EGF development and networking session with industry & genre biz leaders. Read more...

    European Film Academy Nominees screen at Black Nights
    Nine films nominated or awarded at the European Film Academy Awards will be screened in Tallinn during the Black Nights, among them “Winter Sleep” by Nuri Bilge Ceylan that has collected three nominations. Ruben Östlund’s “Force Majeure” has been nominated for best film and best director.     Baltic Event Announces Project Slate

    Baltic Event, taking place during Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival on November 26-28, presents 13 projects in its 10th Co-Production Market. Running for the 13th year in 2014, Baltic Event also highlights 8 projects in the script and pitch workshop POWR Baltic Stories Exchange, 8 projects in Baltic Bridge East by West producers' workshop, and 17 Baltic and Finnish projects in the Works in Progress and Screenings sections.     The International competition jury members are Mark Axelrod (USA),  Finnish actress Kati Outinen , Andrei Proshkin (Russia), Estonian actress Elina Reinold, Benson Taylor (United Kingdom) and Tomas Wasilewski (Poland).
