    CEEnema at its best!

From 1st to 11th October 2015, the fourth LET'S CEE Film Festival will be held in Vienna. 118 outstanding productions from Central and Eastern Europe, including the Caucasus region and Turkey will be shown: most of them Austrian premieres in the original language with German or English subtitles. 41 will be screened in one of the four competition categories (feature film, documentary, short film and debut film).

Magdalena Żelasko, founder and director of the festival, supported by Cineplexx International as Presenting Partner, says: "Initiatives that explicitly aim to promote the cultural dialogue between people of different ethnic backgrounds are more important than ever. This is shown every day in a dramatic way by current developments, and they will become increasingly significant."

The scope of the event, which includes a wide range of films, from formidable arthouse works to blockbusters, this year includes two productions from the Balkans. The opener is a thrilling, visually stunning and award-winning drama THE HIGH SUN by the Croatian director Dalibor Matanić, which deals with the fragility and power of forbidden love. This time, there will be two closing films, the first and second part of the soccer saga MONTEVIDEO, which have sold-out in Serbian cinemas, and which will be shown for the first time in Austria at the LET'S CEE Film Festival.

A total of 130 international guests will come to Vienna to present their work this year. The Shooting Star and cinematic all-rounder Yury Bykov (The Fool) will come from Russia, as well as the director of the current Estonian Oscar submission 1944, Elmo Nüganen. From Israel there will be Sally Perel, author of I WAS HITLER YOUTH SALOMON; from Iran, the great actress and activist Fatemeh Motamed-Arya; from Romania, the successful producer Ada Solomon (AFERIM!); and from Poland her colleague Ewa Puszczyńska (IDA) from Slovenia Ivo Saliger and Elk Eber from the cult band Laibach; from the Czech Republic the legendary photographer Jan Saudek; and from England the film festival organizer and filmmaker Elliot Grove. Among others, the Russian actress and singer Zhenya Malakhova; the international supermodel Eugenia Mandzhieva from Kalmykia; and the dream couple of Bulgarian cinema, Niki Iliev and his wife Sanya Borisova-Ilieva, will add extra glamour. The renowned director and Serbian intellectual Želimir Žilnik, who will present his latest refugee documentary LOGBOOK SERBISTAN, will receive the Star of Urania award for his life’s work.

Of course, there will be a comprehensive program again this year, of master classes, lectures, concerts, readings, get-togethers, talks and parties. More information is available at:
