VARNA: Ilian Djevelekov’s sophomore feature Omnipresent will screen in the main competition of the 35th Golden Rose Bulgarian National Film Festival (30 September - 7 October 2017). His debut feature Love.net (2011, produced by Miramar film) ranked in the top 10 all-time box office in Bulgaria after 1989.
The story written by Matey Konstantinov and Ilian Djevelekov follows the obsession of an advertising agency owner and writer with spying on his family, friends and colleagues with hidden cameras.
„Nowadays cameras are everywhere. The world is under constant video surveillance, justified as a measure of control and prevention. Until recently, the special investigative techniques were a privilege of secret intelligence services. Now they are massively sold at low prices and are practically accessible to everyone. For me respecting privacy boundaries is something very important”, Djevelekov told FNE.
The main character is played by the newcomer Velislav Pavlov. The film also stars popular actors Teodora Duhovnikova, Mihail Mutafov, Tony Minasian, Irmena Chichikova, Boris Lukanov and Georgy Staykov.
The over five weeks of shooting took place in several apartments in Sofia during the second half of 2016.
Djevelekov produced through Miramar film, a company he owns together with Matey Konstantinov and Georgy Dimitrov, in coproduction with the private broadcaster Nova TV. The Bulgarian National Film Center supported the film.
The premiere will take place in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture on 10 October 2017. Lenta, the distribution branch of Nova TV, owned by Nova Broadcasting Group, will released the film domestically on 13 October 2017.
